VoIP switching and billing system

DUAL Softswitch is charged at a monthly rate determined by the capacity of the VoIP switch being rented.  Capacity is measured in terms of the maximum number of concurrent calls that the hosted softswitch can process.  There is no set up charge.  There are no per-minute switching charges.

DUAL Softswitch does not include VoIP termination, although we can offer it separately under our A-Z termination product.  You will continue to pay your existing carrier for terminating your VoIP minutes.

DUAL Softswitch can scale up to thousands of concurrent calls.  Softswitches with a capacity greater than 180 lines are charged at £255.00 per month plus the following tiered monthly charges:

  • 181 - 500 lines:  £1.00 per line per month
  • 501 - 1000 lines:  £0.75 per line per month
  • Above 1000 lines:  £0.55 per line per month

Our prices are fixed in Pounds Sterling (GBP).  The US Dollar prices are estimates only, based on an exchange rate of GBP 1.00 = USD 1.5821 (last updated: 3rd. February 2012).  The traffic estimates are the result of Erlang B calculations and are based on 1% call blocking and 11% Busy Hour Factor.

Mid-term upgrades are charged at the difference between the full undiscounted monthly charges for old and new softswitch configurations.  Mid-term downgrades are not available.

RTP Proxy

Standard DUAL Softswitch pricing does not include an RTP proxy service.   RTP Proxy is not usually required.  If required, RTP Proxy can be provided and is charged on a monthly basis per line.  The number of RTP proxies need not match the capacity of the switch.  RTP Proxy includes full NAT Penetration.
  • RTP Proxy channels for low bit-rate codecs are charged at GBP 1.25 per line per month.
  • RTP Proxy channels for supporting all codecs, including G.711 are charged at GBP 3.00 per line per month.

Discounts

Standard DUAL Softswitch pricing is based on a monthly prepayment and one month commitment.  Discounts are available for prepayments covering longer terms, and cover both the call switching fees and RTP Proxy fees.
  • 15% discount in return for a 3 month prepayment
  • 20% discount in return for a 6 month prepayment
  • 25% discount in return for a 12 month prepayment

Technical support

Our systems are monitored 24 hours a day by our engineers.  We provide free support by email for system faults and for operational issues relating to features which, in our opinion, are not sufficiently well documented or presented online.   All other support is chargeable.

Each new customer receives two free hours of support.  When you extend your licence, your support hours will be topped so that the number of hours is support is not less than the number of months of your licence extension.

Bulk support time can be purchased in advance at lower rates:

  • 15 minutes support costs £12.00
  • 10 hours technical support costs £240.00
  • 50 hours technical support costs £600.00

If support has not been purchased and the free support hours have expired, then chargeable support will not be provided.  A missed appointment will be charged at 60 support minutes.  Support time is accounted for in 15 minute increments.  A database rebuild ("factory reset") is charged at 45 support minutes.  Customer support is provided during UK office hours only (Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 UK local time).

Terms of business

  • Service is provided on a monthly rolling basis.
  • Prices are published in Pounds Sterling (GBP).  Payments made in other currencies will have a 5% transaction fee applied.
  • Strictly prepay only.
  • Payments are accepted by bank transfer, Western Union Quick Pay and PayPal (verified status only).
  • Payments are accepted using credit cards, subject to a credit approval process.
  • Switches are limited to 20 calls per second, with bursting allowed for two seconds.   Thereafter, call throttling is applied.
  • VAT will be charged to customers in the European Union at the current UK rate.
