I would like to know how to change the timer T3168 in Ericsson, because I can not find the MML command to do it

Please help me with this

Pet - 20th September 2011  (09:04 GMT)

the following is a result of RXTCP command.. this site is having a SDCCH congestion, but it is not continuously, it appears every 4 or 7 days:

MO SCGR SC RSITE ALARM SITUATION
RXOTG-70 ZBARA
RXOCF-70 ZBARA BTS INT UNAFFECTED

END
please help

hi,

these timers are used in TBF Drop Rate detection... it's like the radiolink timeout for the call drop rate. Increasing it to the max means that the user feels like the network is "frozen" and will probably stop the packet connection by himself.

On top of that, the TBF is not released for a very long time, which should increase the TBF congestion rate.
In the end, I doubt it is a good idea to increase these "Nxxx" counters to a value that's too high. It's an artificial fix that only enhances the KPI, but not the end-user qos.

(that's just my opinion on the topic...)

Regards

@Bill:I have changed the value of these parameters in my network to full value 250 each and now my drop rate is around 0.70 to 0.80

pix - 19th September 2011  (13:19 GMT)

vicky,

no, i can't (no time, sorry)
you have to try them, and see the effects by yourself.

@Vicky_RF - 19th September 2011  (07:15 GMT)

can you please explain how the changes in these parameters will yield improvement in TDR, also share if any other KPI is going to be affected if changed...???

pix can you share something on this?

thanks...

Network optimization and Performance monitoring is soo vast .. it needs more than just a forum to share everything...

Vicky_RF - 15th September 2011  (05:40 GMT)

@Bill:Increase the timer value
N3101-50,N3103-50,N3105-50

hi - 13th September 2011  (12:31 GMT)

hi,

plz try to disable extended uplink tbf or atleast reduce its timer value

bill - 8th September 2011  (10:50 GMT)

@Vicky

The values are

N3101 = 20
N3103 = 10
N3105 = 10

All are default Siemens recommended values.
