Purchasing Westplan

Can Westplan be used in any country?

Yes. Westplan is not country specific. Any location can be represented within a Westplan product.

How does Westplan's call routing work?

When working out how a call will be routed through a network which you have defined, it looks for a route from the two nodes with the least number of hops.   If this routing is not appropriate, then you can define your own rules for routing between nodes.

Does Westplan support alternate routing?

Westplan can model the failure of individual links but cannot model a situation where calls from a network are load shared between a main link and an alternative link.

Does Westplan support network convergence?

Yes.  Westplan can model the use of voice over IP between network nodes.  Information on the CODECs and protocols are shown in this table:
Transmission media Analogue, T1, E1 (30 or 31 channels) and Voice over IP.
VoIP layer 2 None, PPP, Ethernet, Frame Relay and ATM.
VoIP protocols RTP, cRTP (2 and 4 bytes), RTCP, compressed RTCP.
VoIP CODECs G.711 (64kbps), G.723.1 (5.3 - 6.4kbps), G.726 (32kbps), G.728 (16kbps) and G.729B (8kbps).
Silence suppression Supported as specified for G.723.1 and G.729B.
Maximum traffic 10,000 Erlangs BHT per inter-nodal combination.
Traffic model Erlang B.

Is Westplan Y2K compliant?

Westplan does not make any use of absolute dates, and therefore cannot be effected by the change to a new Millennium. Furthermore, we have successfully tested the software for the New Year and Leap Day transitions and are confident that no problems will be experienced if our software is run on Millennium compliant operating system, firmware and hardware platforms.

Which NT4 Service Packs does Westplan work under?

Westplan has been successfully tested using all Service Packs from SP3.

Will I be able to install on my laptop?

If you purchase the software when you are using your desktop computer, then you may transfer the installation file to your laptop computer and install it there.  However, you may not install on both computers if you are only covered by one single user licence; you will need to buy two licences.
